Regina -- Canadian PM Reaches out to Ukrainians
REGINA -- Prime Minister Paul Martin yesterday formally recognized the wrongs inflicted on thousands of Ukrainian-Canadians who were interned or stripped of civil rights during the First World War.
At a ceremony in Regina, Mr. Martin called the episode a "dark chapter" in Canadian history as he signed an agreement with community leaders to fund a $2.5-million package for markers, plaques, and educational materials to mark the abuses
