Friday, July 31, 2015 will be the second full moon in the month of July.  When there are two full moons in a month -- one at the beginning of the month, and the second at the end of the month -- the second is referred to as a "blue moon".

It happens about once every 2.5 years.  The next Blue Moon will occur in January, 2018; January 2, 2018 and January 31, 2018.
